11-54 is the story of a filly exploring a strange facility filled with hostile creatures and unstable architecture.
You've gone quite a ways in the last few days but as it stands, your journey is not over.
So far you were born into this facility from mysterious tubes that litter the building. You've managed to die twice, only to be re-born from the tubes. Along the way you met a pony who is your clone, who is much older than you, and remembers the facility before if fell into disrepair. Your older clone who you've named Spearmint told you about the mental conditioning program that the facility used to run, which left her a bit of a psychological mess. There are various hostile artificial organisms created by the facility that lurk the halls. You are also being hunted by the automated security who seeks to contain the artificial organisms. Along the way you've also meet an investigative reporter by the Name of Photo Bomb who was in a helicopter that crashed into the building. Upon meeting the reporter you choose to name yourself Peppermint
Right now, a prototype bio-computer named Apollo has locked you in his laboratory and last requested you tell him what you read on his terminal.

What will you do now?

Come on in to the 11-54 CYOA and help this filly and her companions escape.

The room has a water line and a couple gas lines under the sink, and two filing cabinets. There are two metal doors, both held shut by Apollo, as well as a sliding glass door that Photobomb just broke, that Apollo can control the operation of. making the broken glass leftover on the door a dangerous weapon at Apollo's disposal if you choose to pass through Apollo has opened the door on your crowbar getting it stuck in the door. Power to the outlets has been shut off.

>It finally Catches up to you just how bad Spearmint's lie really was. As you think about it, what she said only brings up more questions in your mind.
>As you start organizing the questions the questions you have for Spearmint in your mind Apollo speaks again.
>"I told you I wasn't going to speak to you until you told me what you read on that terminal, but your new lies are insulting. Do you honestly think that I would believe you are illiterate!? You're not the first of your kind to speak with me, and I know what parts of me were used to make you. Now Tell Me What You Read!"
>Photo Bomb groans in frustration and walks over to the filing cabinets and says, "Why the fuck are you get us killed kid? I fucking swear if this is the end, I'll... I'll..."
>Photo Bomb continues to mumble under her breath as she starts inspection the cabinets and shivering.
>Now that you start thinking about it, you realize that the sweat on you is quickly getting chilled by the air in the room.
>You realize that your shirt is a lot more moist that you thought.
>You also realize that you're left the sink on.

What do you do?

As much as I don't want to admit it, the petulant child of a computer might have us beat.

My only thought is that we could use the sink water to mess with Apollo's system. Either threaten his processor or somehow make it so him cooling the room hurts him too.

You couldn't be used for anything. That's way you don't scare me! Because I know you're just a useless pathetic child. Are you happy now!?"
>The temperature begins to return to normal and the crowbar falls out of the door.

>Spearmint tries the door, "It's still locked!"
"Apollo open the door! (since that's all you're good for)"

As for going back and killing Apollo, it may be lying, but it said it's integrated into the building's systems and is safe from attack. We already hurt it's feelings- Trying to outright kill it may provoke a seriously bad reaction. Best not to make unnecessary enemies?

If she thinks she can fend for herself, she needs to look us in the eyes and say so before we make our exit, leaving her for dead. She made the choice to go alone, we need her to make the choice to survive alone.

What the fuck. Seriously I've been reading this and as far as I can tell when presented with a computer of uncertain capabilities and certain emotional stunting the first thing people decided to do was antagonize it as much as possible for no apparent reason.
When presented with a admittedly abrasive personality in a potential companion rather then thinking that just maybe this person has poor social skills and is lashing out because they're terrified and alone you again handled the situation with nothing like any kind of empathy until they lashed out.

Guys, consider this:

Apollo said he was holding something captive, one of the biological experiments. If we start snooping around, what are the chances of running into this thing? If Apollo has run off into his mind to mope he might not be effectively trapping it anymore.

I'm not a fan of PB either but I feel like at the very least having some extra eyes and maybe some more fighting hands/hooves around is worth her shitty attitude.

But at the same time she could prove unreliable, maybe even sabotaging.

Have a talk with Spear, see if she's willing to put up with Photo Bomb.

And simply reading terminals should not have antagonized Apollo unless he was predisposes to not trust us, in which case we're better off without his bullshit.

Do we anons who represent the bioform 11-54, dubbed Spearmint, give pegasus Photo Bomb another chance to follow us, directly (by asking) or indirectly (by the method's suggested by >>25983115)

All in favor say aye

All opposed say neigh

>Now that you've had time to calm down you begin to wonder if you're making the right decision.
>You decide to consult Spearmint on the matter
"Hey Spearmint, what do you think about going further into these labs? Do you think that there's anything useful in here?"
>"With how well kept this place is I wouldn't be surprised if there was something useful in here. I wouldn't be against looking further inside."
>You hesitate a bit with you next question. You really don't want to think that maybe you did something wrong but on the same level you imagine that anyone in a position where they may feel like they are wrong may be in the same position.
"Spearmint!? Do... Do you think I was a bit harsh of PB?"
>"PB?"
"Photo Bomb."
>"Maybe.... I don't know, she's kind of toxic I guess... Really I feel a lot more uneasy abot the way you treated Apollo."
"Apollo deserves what he got, but I'm not sure about PB she may have just been scared. Heck maybe Smacking her upside the head is what she really needed.
>Spearmint sighs, "Perhaps. She's been a little weird ever since we met her. Like when you went to help those pilots she said something about us not going to be able to help them she said that she didn't want to get eaten. Do you really think she wants to stay with us anymore though?"
"I don't know, I kind of want to ask if she wants to come along but I'm not sure if I want her around if she swallows her pride and says yes."
>"I'll leave that up to you, just know that if she hits you like that again I'm shooting her."
"Spearmint do you really think I did the wrong thing with Apollo?"
>"Yes, I wouldn't have gone out of my way to piss him off like that, even if you did read that he was that immature."

What do you do?

>PB just sort of curls into a ball.
"Look I'm going to bandage you a bit before Spear and I leave I suggest you leave as well."
>You try to treat her face first but she shys away, you grab at her hat but it just slips off and her camera falls on the floor. After that, you grab at PB's leg with your telekinesis and she tries to pull away, you pump a little extra juice into your magic and she winces and lets you take her leg.
>As you finish with her leg and begin moving back to try treating her face again she asks you, "Why are you helping me?"
>You pause for a moment and think about it. She really doesn't deserve it but you'd also like to think that you're a generally good nurtured pony. Of course all of that sound really sappy and you're not exactly convinced that is really why you wanted to wrap her up. >You put Photo Bomb's hat on your head.
"Spearmint, could you pass me a adhesive bandage for her nose."
"spearmint digs through the fist aid kit and holds up a bandage which you take before grabbing Photo Bomb's muzzle with your telekinesis, causing her to cringe as you force her head around.
"Well, I'm the one who hurt you and you're going to have a hard enough time trying to survive in this place alone and I really don't want to know that I was the reason you died. I mean, I want to believe that I'm better than the monsters that are crawling around in this place, and as far as I can see, I am."
>PB's breath becomes a bit heavy as you begin applying the bandage to her nose. she squeaks a bit as you press the bandage on.
"I guess I can understand being in a dangerous place and having orders given to you by an eight year old. Well... Am I biologically eight?.. Anyway someone who has been alive for a lot less time than you. I guess it's probably pretty frustrating, but what you don't understand is that all of your complaining and negativity is just making it harder for us to simply survive this place and makes it harder for us to care about you getting out of this alive. But I guess if I've learned anything, it's that sometime you just can't save everything.
>You finish off by stuffing her right nostril with some tissue and get up.
"By the way, this is a nice hat."
>Photo Bomb looks away, "I think I understand. It makes sense why you don't want me around..."
You turn around and get ready to start leaving. Of course if you have anything left to say to Photo Bomb this may be the last time you have a chance to. Also you may want to decide which way you would like to go through the escape hatch.

The fact she curled up into a ball and started sobbing is a pretty clear sign of that fear. She doesn't know how to get out of her and she figured she just threw away her only chance to escape alive, pretty much guaranteeing her dying alone here.

"Hey Spearmint, how does this hat look?"
>Spearmint seems to strain to look at you, "pretty good I think..."
You levitate it back on PB's head and give her a quick hug which seems to surprise her.
"Hey, I know that you're scared but you don't have to act like a bitch to let us know."
>You let her go,
"I think the hat looks better on you anyway. We're going to be looking further into the labs, if you think you can keep yourself under control I don't think I'll be that much against you coming along."
>You and Spearmint start climbing into the shaft and begin heading towards the interior of the labs. You hear something climb down into the hatch with you and Spearmint. Looking back, you see PB. You and Spearmint don't say anything about it and keep climbing through.
Eventually you all get to another hatch the passage continues further but spearmint opens up this hatch and starts looking around for a bit before she freezes.
"Spearmint, What's wrong?"
>She doesn't respond, so you squeeze up through the hole to see what's going on.
>Inside you immediately see an android plugged into a wall as you move around you can see it tracking you but otherwise it does not seem to move.

Can't help but wonder whether the alicorn from above won't be wishing to recruit us for the fight against the machines in return for helping us out... forcing us to pass this neutral middle ground between the two ''factions''... I think it's a shame we angered this one universally tolerated/respected place/being. Why did you guys decide on breaking Apollo's privacy after you succesfully avoided angering it when you've managed to convince Photo Bomb not to check the files and received a direct warning from Apollo when going for the computer. I don' get it - you were doing so great in following the route to peace with this being too... the lack of ill-will of it clearly shown in how it allowed taking stuff from the place and leaving whenever desitred. Can't say i've had a chance to affect that though, having read the whole story just recently... The above is a legitimate question. Why did you guys do it?

Good or bad, he wanted to know, and has for some time. If we just ignore him for now, and chat his speakers now and again, maybe we can re-open a dialogue and fix things. And if he stays a dick, at least we were warned.

He obviously played us into doing something he thought would be to his benefit, by attempting to persuade us not to look.

For what it's worth, we should probably try to find out what else it is he really wants. Because once again, he could tun out to be a mediator between us and a complete stranger. Current reputation might chop our chances of starting off on a good foot with the other bioform.

It looks more to me as though the biomachine was anxious as to what it's creators were actually feeling about it... or maybe, some truth about it.

You know what we could say?

That what we did was out of fear. Apollo should understand that much, considering how he's been familiar with exerting such pressure - and how it affects the behaviour of ponies.

What bad would come out of saying we were afraid when we are leaving? It would have him pondering about what it did. It seems only natural for us to care about our lives... and with what a mystery Apollo was... and how it looked anxious as to not let us know things. This whole facility is full of secrets and dangers. We did it, not meaning harm...

... but.

When we knew that the scientists were disappointed in him, we lied, because we were afraid of what his reaction might be to this kind of information. Truly, this creature is the one of the few we were able to talk to on even ground in this place... and we did not mean to harm him with those kind of revelations.

We could say at least we're sorry if we're leaving. Grief tends to grow over time and even such a little heartfelt explanation can mean much in the long run.

We should avoid burning this bridge behind us completely.

What do you guys think?

We really just need to figure out what he wants. The poor, sorry pony act can wait, but I agree that a change from our furious, snarky tone could work with having a more civil discussion.

We then pull spearmint up and photo bomb pushes her up.
Then when we're both in photo bomb can just fly up.
The problem is getting to the other side.

The Bones seem to be stripped clean you see tiny bite-marks all over the bones. It Seems like the only thing left on this pony is a small pocket watch that is attached to a necklace.
>You decide to also test the elevator while you're at it. You tell PB to shine her flashlight up and you touch the down button on the platform.

I wouldn't advise leaving to investigate it, you can't know what will happen and the other two will be pretty defenceless without you. So just sit it out, y'all can go there later.

Maybe flap your ears back to dampen the sounds a bit. You have flexible horsie-ears after all.

And maybe you can keep yourself entertained by thinking about what you weird dream meant. Maybe talk to Spearmint about it when you think it's a good time for some chit-chat?

Can you try and open the door of the furnace with your telekinesis ability from as afar as possible? Or give that thing inside a shove?

Again I ask, does the room your are in have a door you can close in an emergency? (If there's a spooky, scary skeleton inside and decides to jump on you to send shivers down your spine)
Or maybe something to barricade the entrance?

If it doesn't react on the TK pokes and shoves you could try going near it. Is it an unicorn even, maybe an Alicorn skull?

Either way, be very careful and keep as much distance from it as possible. All of you watch the surroundings.

Actually does any of your horns still light up slightly? I̶n̶s̶p̶e̶c̶t̶ ̶S̶p̶e̶a̶r̶m̶i̶n̶t̶s̶ ̶h̶o̶r̶n̶ ̶v̶e̶r̶y̶ ̶c̶l̶o̶s̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶l̶e̶w̶d̶l̶y̶

should we try to have the unicorns comunicate with it, if that is even possible. It has some brain mater so it's worth a shot.

A quick attempt with TK to re-attach the fluid-cup is worth a shot, maybe it'll refill itself and resume what appears to be life support. But odds are we've busted the whole works and we better get our asses out of there.

"Why would they have something like this!? What's wrong with a traditional pilot light!?"
>Nobody has an answer for you.
>Photo Bomb gives the light to Spearmint and says, "Take this for a moment, I've got to get a picture."
>You attempt to reattach the reservoir to the back of the skull, but it doesn't stick.
>Brainstorming you think that you may be able to communicate with it via telepathy even though you don't think you're ever communicated telepathically before. For a moment you think you hear something but it's PB mumbling something about lighting.
>Finally you decide that there is nothing else you can do about this furnace you just broke, and decide to leave before the room fills with gas or something. even though the room you are in is massive, but you have yet to decide where to go.

What do you do?

>You open the hatch on the floor and head down the stairs. once you reach the bottom you find that the hallway has a faint light at the end of it where it opens up into a lager room.

>you decide to check VOX and 204 first.
>As you head down the hall with your light spell, you hear a cascade of small creatures going into hiding. The hallway seems to be much less quiet than the walkway above. you can hear every hoof-step reverberating loudly and you and your companions move through.
>First checking the room marked "VOX" you find a VOX-terminal glowing as well as some things that are mounted to the wall. It looks like there are some service panels for breakers and fuses.
>Checking room marked "204" you find a cache of maintenance supplies. From what you can see, it looks like there are spare tubing filters and tools boxes among other things.

Wasn't VOX the voice announcement system? Can we talk with it? What's its terminal say?

And check if there's anything useful you can take with you. Then go and check the other rooms. 05 -> 06 -> large room.
